Arranging
My arranging work spans centuries and styles — from settings of medieval and Renaissance chant, to new instrumentations of classical repertoire, to pop songs from the last fifty years reimagined for strings. Many of these pop arrangements have been featured internationally in Fever’s Candlelight Concert series.
I’m especially passionate about a project I have been pursuing for over ten years centred on the music of Eugène Ysaÿe, bringing his lesser-known, unpublished, and unfinished works to life through modern performance editions. These include his rarely heard transcription of Chopin’s Ballade No. 1 in G minor, the Petite Fantaisie Romantique, Légende Norvégienne, two of the three Études-Poèmes, as well as his cadenzas for the Beethoven and Tchaikovsky violin concertos. These works reveal a rich, multifaceted side of Ysaÿe’s artistry that has long been overshadowed by the enduring popularity of the solo sonatas. Alongside this, I continue to develop a collection of folk songs from around the world arranged for small string ensembles, as well as works by composers from Terezín, ensuring this powerful repertoire remains accessible to today’s performers and audiences.
Most of my arrangements and compositions are available on Sheet Music Plus.
